Eat this now - Arvinda's Indian Spiced Tomato Sauce

If you're going to indulge in one thing right now, it's tomatoes. In the markets, you can find a wide variety of deliciously sweet and juicy heirloom tomatoes ranging in different shapes, colours, sizes and flavours.

While they're available and in season, you need to eat them now!

Eat these now! Tomatoes in September are amazing. Try making Arvinda's Indian Spiced Tomato Sauce this month.

Here's what we're making with delicious seasonal tomatoes:

Gorgeous seasonal heirloom tomatoes with sliced garlic cloves we picked up from Stratford's Garlic Festival this past weekend.

Indian Spiced Tomato Sauce

1/8 cup olive oil
3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
½ red onion, chopped
8-10 Arvinda's Curry Leaves
6-8 large tomatoes (with seeds), cubed
1 tbsp. Arvinda's Curry Masala (use 1 ½ tbsp. for bolder flavour)
1 tsp. sea salt

Method: On medium heat, gently heat olive oil. Add garlic and onion and fry until fragrant, for a couple of minutes. Add Arvinda’s Curry Leaves and fry for one minute. Add tomatoes. Simmer for a couple of minutes. Stir in Arvinda’s Curry Masala and sea salt to taste.

Spoon over pasta and serve hot.

Alternatively, you can stir in some chick peas and chopped spinach into the sauce and serve with rice for a lovely Indian inspired meal (it's kinda like a curry!).

Thank you to all our lovely customers and friends (old and new) who came and visited us this past weekend at the Stratford Garlic Festival.  It was so nice to hear about the amazing ways you're cooking with Arvinda's blends in your recipes!

One great idea shared was Arvinda's Garam Masala in an Apple Crumble - sounds deliciously tempting for the fall season!

We're all stocked up on garlic and adding them to our curries as we speak. Yum!
